Are you planning a get together for Valentine's Day? We have some great ideas, tips and hints to make your party a great success. Whether it is a party for couples only or for those that have no Valentine, we can help you with your planning.

The color scheme is easy; red and white for love and purity. Set your tables for serving food with a red cloth and use white napkins as a contrast. Paper goods are great for parties and you are sure to find plenty of Valentines Day themed paper plates, cups, napkins and disposable utensils in red. For an atmosphere that is romantic, keep the lights down low and scatter votive candles around such as our Long Stem Rose Candle or Two Peas in a Pod. You may even want to add red and white clusters of balloons.

Ask your guests to come to the party dressed in Valentines Day colors such as pink, white or red. Ask everyone to bring along a small heart shaped box of candies or purchase some of ours such as Wax Candy Lips. These are funky and fun and will add some hilarity to the party as the guests try them on for size. We also have Rainbow Heart shaped lollipops and Long Stem Rose lollipops. Favors to give to guests can be our Love Grows Plantable Wildflower Favors in the shape of a heart.

Food & Drink

If you'd like, you can serve up some red and white wine for beverages. Perhaps you want to serve martinis instead. There are a number of new kinds of martinis that will match your decor such as a pomegranate martini. You might want to try some frozen drinks if you have a blender such as Strawberry Daiquiris loaded with whipped cream along with Pina Coladas.

Oysters have always been known to be an aphrodisiac so serving them at your Valentines Day party is a must. You can prepare Bacon & Smoked Oysters to serve your guests. What you will need is:

  • 2 cans of smoked oysters
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 pound of bacon
  • Toothpicks
  • 3 tablespoons of minced garlic

The first step is to cut the strips of bacon into thirds. Wrap each slice around an oyster and skewer with a toothpick to hold them together. Heat oil in a skillet and add the garlic. Cook the oysters until the bacon is crispy. Drain on a paper towel and serve.

Your guests will be quite impressed with this easy to prepare dish that is the perfect accompaniment for a Valentines Day party.
