Luau For Kids

Inflatable Luau ToysBeach BallsWant to have a special luau for kids? With summer being right around the corner, it isn't too shocking that many of us are wanting an excuse to have outdoor parties and play outside. Kids especially love the idea if it means they have an excuse to play in the pool or have a fun party with all the kids in the neighborhood.  What is even more fun about a luau is that you can have two parties going on at once, one for children and one for adults who are enjoying a fun barbeque and a night of cocktails. You may even be surprised at how easy it is to have a fun luau that the whole family can enjoy together!

Luau for Kids: Pool Toys

Of course, one of the best parts of a luau party is being able to play in the pool or at the beach. There are many cool luau themed pool toys, including rafts and floating toys. One of the coolest things that many kids enjoy, however are toys that allow them to have soda and other fun drinks in the pool. This allows kids to have a way of getting their favorite drink without leaving the pool, allowing adults to watch children and enjoy time in the water themselves. Of course, kids can easily have hours of fun in the pool with pool toys such as water guns and beach balls. Just make sure you have activities planned ahead of time to keep kids busy!

Even though many people don't think about it, many children associate luaus with Hawaiian dancers or hula girls. For this reason, many little girls love to pretend they are hula girls, wearing costumes and flowered leis  just like these tropical girls. These costumes are fairly inexpensive and a great way to get kids having fun at your party. Since they go great with bathing suits, they are perfect for everyone. As well, consider having straw hats available to all the kids, especially if you have a yard or play area where they will be out in the sun.

Luau for Kids: Decorations

Even though we may not think about it, decorations can easily turn a boring pool party into an exciting luau. This can be as simple as decorating your deck with beautiful flower garland or even giving your outdoor patio table a touch of Hawaii with a grass skirt. If you are planning on bringing your party into the night, you can also purchase Tiki lanterns and torches that run on smokeless oil to keep everyone enjoying the party even after the sun goes down.

Luau for Kids: Games

Of course, one of the best parts of having a luau for kids is a variety of party games. Kids love playing classic games like ring toss and wooden ring drop games. You can also take advantage of your pool by making your own unique games. For example, purchasing Hawaiian themed rubber duckies and having a large pool game. Just place all the ducks in your pool and having children find numbered ducks. You can also purchase inflatable pool games like a ring or ball toss game. Not only can they keep the ducks they 'catch' but can get a cool prize pack with luau themed toys. With a variety of fun games and prizes, every child will have fun at your adorable kid themed luau!
