Some Simple Ideas For Throwing A Princess Party

By Designed 2B Sweet Inc. August 16, 2013 424 Views No comments

Every little girl wants to be a princess. So when her birthday comes around, smart Moms and Dads know the best way to make it really special, is to have a princess birthday party. Here are a few ideas to make it a fun and unique event:

1. Every princess needs a palace, so first we must decorate the house! You can get pink sparkle tulle rolls and garland the tulle along the walls and tables. Tie big bows on the back of the chairs. Remember, the more girly and frilly the better. Next, place some inflatable unicorns, frogs and butterflies around to give the house the feel of an enchanted palace. You can give these away as prizes during the party. Groups of pink and purple balloons add a lot of visual punch and create a party atmosphere. I love placing plastic "glass slippers" filled with candy or other treats at each girl's place setting!

2. Now we need food and treats! No matter what you choose to serve, little girls especially love the special touches that reflect the princess theme. Sandwiches or other foods can be cut out with princess themed cookie cutters. A really fun idea is to place pink rock candy in little treasure chest shaped favor boxes. Now each princess has her jewels! Lollipops in the shape of roses, flowers, frogs, stars or tiaras will complement your theme as well. Bubble gum shaped coins can be used as treasure in a centerpiece or on a side table. Of course, the cake should be shaped like a palace. Make sure to ask the baker to tint the cake pink on the inside. Another unique touch is to serve pink hot chocolate as a special princess beverage.

3. Another important element for a good princess party is the costumes. Give each girl an inexpensive tiara and wand as a party favor. If you want to go all out, give them each a ribbon tutu, as well. The little girls will have great fun dressing themselves, each other and showing off their princess style. Don't forget to take pictures!

4. Next we need favor bags for the princesses to take home and enjoy. Rather than the usual gift bags, how about cute little purses that say "Princess" on them? Inside you can add sparkle body glitter, cute beaded jewelry, over sized jeweled rings and sparkling body stickers.

5. Plan some great age-appropriate activities to entertain your little guests. Children love a simple treasure hunt; hide plastic jewelry around the party room or in the yard. Pin the crown on the princess games are available and are sure to make everyone laugh. Guests could make their own princess wands or crowns using craft store supplies or princess craft kits. Hang a pinata shaped as a castle, dragon or tiara! How cute and fun!

6. Don't forget there may be a prince or two at this party, so you might want to have a few prince crowns, swords and shields to delight them. You might even want an inflatable dragon for a prince to conquer!

Now you know how to throw a GREAT princess party. Be creative and enjoy!!!

Movie Premiere Party

By Designed 2B Sweet Inc. August 16, 2013 286 Views No comments

Are you looking forward to your favorite movie getting ready to hit theaters or release on DVD? With so many great movies getting ready to come out, it isn't too surprising that many people, especially children, are excited to see their favorite feature film in their own living room. Since so many people like the same movies, have you considered having your own movie premiere party in your own home? Many people think that red carpet parties are only reserved for the rich, but they are just as much fun to have with family and friend, especially when it means you can all enjoy a great movie in your own living room without high movie theater prices!

Movie Premiere Party: Party Decorations

Want to know the best part of hosting your own movie premiere party? You have an excuse to decorate! It is easy to find decorations that make your house looking like a movie theater, or a typical red carpet party. If you are having your party during the Oscars, you can even find little fake awards to use as table centerpieces or party favors, letting everyone know that they are a winner or VIP at your own event. When decorating, make sure you don't go overboard, however, since the main event is, of course, the movie.

Movie Premiere Party: Food

As anyone would tell you who goes to the movies - food is one of the best parts! One thing that is a must at any movie premiere party is popcorn. The best part about serving snacks at home is that you can forgo the high movie popcorn prices by popping popcorn that is healthier and cheaper for all of your guests. To give the movie feel to your popcorn, consider purchasing some disposable bowls or boxes meant for holding popcorn. These might have anything from a movie theater look to something else fun. Along with popcorn, have a large selection of candy available to all of your guests. They will love choosing from a large selection of movie theater-style candy! Don't forget too that you can steer away slightly from the movie theme by making your own homemade treats, or other appetizers that you know your family and friends are sure to love eating during the movie!

Movie Premiere Party: Party Games

Before the start of the movie, consider playing some fun movie themed games with all of your guests. You can find party games designed especially for movie parties, or go with traditional games for parties like pin the tail on the donkey, bean bag toss, and other games you would find at kids parties. Just make sure that all the games at your party are age appropriate. If you want to stay with games that are great for all ages and can be played again, consider popular games like Apples to Apples and Scene It. With the right preparations, you can easily create the perfect movie premiere party!

Throw A Beach Themed Party

By Designed 2B Sweet Inc. August 16, 2013 271 Views No comments

Children love going to the beach, but unfortunately, most of us don't live close enough to enjoy the beach every day. Rather than have your kids daydreaming about your next vacation, you may want to consider having your own beach themed party designed especially for them! Not only is bringing the beach home great for your kids, but it can be a perfect opportunity to get even closer to your neighbors, allowing everyone to enjoy a fun, old-fashioned summer block party!

Backyard Beach Party: Themes

One of the hardest things when it comes to creating a beach party is picking a theme. While you can have a traditional pool party, it's usually more exciting for the children if you allow them to pick a fun theme, involving them with picking decorations and activities for all your little guests. Some popular beach themes for kids include:

  • Mermaids
  • Pirates
  • Sharks
  • Fish
  • Dolphins

If you want to make a party that is also friendly for adults, however, you may want to consider going with a luau theme. Luau decorations are perfect for most beach parties and open up a wide variety of fun decorations and lighting, especially if the party runs into the night!

Backyard Beach Party: Water Toys

The best part of going to the beach is, of course, water! When it's hot and sticky outside, nothing is better than sitting back and watching the kids play in the ocean. While we may not be able to really create the ocean, it's easy to find an inexpensive pool and fill it with fun water toys. Make it a fun experience for kids by having a variety of fun beach balls that everyone can play with in the pool. Even better, allow each of your little guests to pick out their own beach ball to bring home after the party! It's also fun to have a variety of fun different inflatable characters that kids can play with in the pool. Kids especially love toys like inflatable hammers since they can be used in spontaneous pool games.

Kids also love having water toys that can be used not only in the pool, but in the yard as well. Water guns and water balloons are fun, traditional toys that are all too often underestimated at most water parties. Kids can easily occupy themselves for hours with these simple toys, especially if they are playing with older children or adults as well. Adults should just expect to get very wet as well, with these party toys!

Backyard Beach Party: Food

If you are going to have a beach party that involves kids, you can'™t forget the food! To keep it simple, you may want to light up the grill, and provide the perennial favorites - hot dogs and hamburgers! After this, follow up with fun cupcakes decorated in a luau theme, or fish-shaped cupcake picks. Kids will be looking forward to dessert the moment they see these sweet treats! To keep your drinks cold and easily accessible to kids, you may want to use a cooler or inflatable buffet. These ingenious buffets inflate in a matter of minutes and can be easily filled with ice, allowing you to just fill it and chill your favorite drinks. With cold drinks, entertaining water toys, and delicious food, you can keep your guests, kids and adults, to be busy for hours!

Saddle Up the Horses for a Rootin' Tootin' Good Time

By Designed 2B Sweet Inc. August 16, 2013 172 Views No comments

Kid'™s of all ages love to play cowboy or cowgirl. It is a great theme for a party and is an easy one for which to decorate and prepare. The kids will love dressing up and having their party in the Wild, Wild, West!

Decorating Ideas

You can decorate tables with red gingham checked tablecloths. Have western themed cut-outs and red and blue colored confetti sprinkled over them. Be sure you have plates, cups and napkins with a western theme and if you can'™t find any use red plates and blue cups and red and blue napkins. You can always get a stamp at the craft store and put a western themed logo on them. You can make fake hay bales using boxes covered with brown sackcloth or cover with paper bags and tie them with string. To give them an authentic look you can place a few sprigs of hay on each. Buy a cheap horseshoes game and place the horseshoes around the room or hang them in doorways. Gather as many plush and toy horses as you can and scatter them about as well. You can also attach ropes made into lariats to walls and doors. Blue and red crepe paper can be hung from ceilings and light fixtures.

When the Guests Arrive

To really get the kids into the spirit, hand out colored bandannas for each child. Provide cowboy hats as well. You can also provide star shaped sunglasses. For girls have Pink Cowgirl Pony Bubble Bottles and as a craft how about western theme charm bracelets for them to assemble. Boys will love having some sheriff badges to wear. As a special sweet treat we have Western Cowboy Theme Lollipops that you can give the children.

Things to Do

Pin the tail on the donkey is the ideal game to play at a western themed birthday party. A game of horseshoes either in the basement or outdoors will be fun as well. Gunny sack or three-legged races will have the kids in stitches as they try and cross the finish line. A pinata in the shape of the horse filled with candy and cowboy themed trinkets will have kids swinging in earnest to be the one to œbreak the horse.

A Cowboy Barbecue

Hamburger, hot dogs and chips are the perfect western party fare. If the kids are a little older they might like some chili or baked beans. Make sure you have all the trimmings such as mustard, ketchup and plenty of cheese for those that want a cheeseburger. Pretzels and trail mix can be set out in bowls for the kids to snack on. Don'™t forget the western themed cake and of course, lots and lots of ice cream.
The kid's will be pleased and so will you when you see your home or yard transformed into the Old West.

Luckily for every kid in a pirate costume, there will be fine juices served in attractive pirate goblets, and sacks of pirate gold gum to be pillaged.

And while you might not be able to put a real pirate ship in the backyard, you could still provide a pirate armada of soft foam pirate ships, perfect for little hands because they won't scratch or cut. Plan A Carnival Party

By Designed 2B Sweet Inc. August 12, 2013 197 Views No comments

Do your children love going to the circus? It's very easy to bring the circus to your own backyard with a carnival birthday party! A large part of the fun for children is the excitement and variety of carnival games at most carnivals, even if it is just a small church gathering. What most parents don't know is that it is very easy to create a carnival themed birthday party, even on a limited budget!

Carnival Entertainment

When children are asked to describe a carnival, one of the first things they talk about are the fun games and prizes! While it may seem complex up front, it is very easy to create a few tables of carnival games at your child's birthday party. Most of the games that are at carnivals are traditional games that have been around for ages. Some of the most popular of these games include

  • Ring Toss
  • Bottle Toss
  • Duck Pond
  • Disk Drop
  • Darts

Just about any type of traditional party game for kids is perfect for a carnival. The trick is finding the perfect prizes for these games. Prizes can be anything from assorted party favors to candy packs. If you want to give a true carnival feel, however, make sure to throw in some stuffed animals that kids have a chance to win too.

Carnival Food & Treats

Right after games, kids are likely to think of the variety of fun foods they can find when visiting a carnival or the circus. When asked about the type of food at a carnival, they are likely to start talking about popcorn, cotton candy, and other sweets. Most of the candy found at carnivals is fairly inexpensive, which is good news for planning within a budget. You may also want to consider having a gumball machine filled with colorful gumballs, if you or a relative have one“ almost every carnival has a few machines near the exit, after all!

To cut back on costs, it is also very easy to create your own circus themed cupcakes at home, using circus themed paper baking cups or cupcake picks. This can be much cheaper than getting a decorated cake and kids will love having their own colorful cup cake. If you do not want to make cupcakes at home, don't worry, these can work just as well with store bought cupcakes!

Carnival Party Decorations

Creating the perfect carnival atmosphere is usually the hardest part of creating a carnival birthday party. It'™s more than just buying carnival themed paper plates and circus party paper sets. The trick is finding the right combination of decorations to give that carnival feel to your birthday party. While balloons are obvious, don't forget that you can easily hang paper cutouts from trees and use scene setters on the side of your house to make your yard look like a carnival. One of our other personal favorites, and one many people do not consider, is inflatable animals. It's easy to create your own circus with inflatable animals and inflatable toys. If you want to get your children involved, consider having them make circus themed crafts as decorations.

Of course, no circus is complete without a ring master and clowns! You don't have to buy a whole clown costume, however, to make the adults look the part. Consider having the adults wear clown wigs and makeup to the party, especially if they are responsible for giving prizes for carnival games. You can also have mom and dad stand out by purchasing top hats and other silly hats to make them look more like ringmasters. With the right preparations, you can really have your own backyard carnival!
